Nemo La Palma
Nemo La Palma is a local company running coastal boat trips from the Marina de Tazacorte, at the fishermen's guild building in Puerto de Tazacorte, on the western side of La Palma. The sailings follow the shoreline in search of cetaceans and carry a maximum of eleven passengers per boat. One route covers the west coast, another the north-west, and a private charter can also be booked.
The company describes itself as one hundred per cent Palmeran and concentrates on the west coast of the island, with sailings given over to watching the animals that live in those waters. It works two boats, the Nemo and the Antorcha, and caps the passenger list at eleven so that the outing stays close-up. Crossings run to roughly two or three hours.
The north-west route covers that stretch of coast in full and takes in the widest search area for cetaceans. Some sailings carry drinks and snacks and a stop for a swim. Anyone who would rather set the course can charter either boat privately. Booking is done online through the company's own site, which also takes enquiries by form and by telephone, and the trip can be given as a present.
