Mercado de Los Llanos
The municipal market of Los Llanos de Aridane, still known locally as La Recova, occupies a building from the 1950s in the middle of the town, with columns and rounded halls. Inside, the counters carry fresh fish, fruit, vegetables, spices, wines, pastries and flowers from the Aridane valley. A small bar at the back of the building is well known for its grilled meat and cheese sandwiches.
The market occupies a building from the 1950s in the heart of Los Llanos de Aridane, the largest town of the Aridane valley on the western side of La Palma. Its architecture, with columns and rounded halls, is one of the features that set it apart and the reason it is treated as a building of historical and architectural interest. Local people still call it La Recova, the traditional Canarian name for a covered food market.
The stalls sell fresh fish, fruit and vegetables from the valley, spices, wines, pastries and flowers, with a clear weight of produce grown a few kilometres away. At the back of the building a small bar serves sandwiches of grilled meat and cheese that regulars single out. In 2024 the town council put out to tender the first phase of a refurbishment focused on the exterior, covering the north and south squares, better access and an underground car park. The entrance is on Calle Ramón Pol, inside the urban core.

Shopping centre opened in July 2026 in Las Chafiras (San Miguel de Abona), next to exit 62 of the TF-1 and a few minutes from Tenerife South airport. More than 45 shops and about ten restaurants on two floors, with a cinema, a supermarket, free parking and electric charging points. Shops open 10:00 to 22:00 every day; the food court closes at midnight.
