Nuestra Señora de África Market
The Nuestra Señora de África market, known in the city as La Recova, is the reference municipal market of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It occupies a building of arcaded courtyards next to Avenida de San Sebastián and brings together stalls of fish, meat, fruit, vegetables, cheeses, flowers and island-made produce.

The Nuestra Señora de África Market, known in the city as La Recova, is the most emblematic municipal market in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It opened in 1944, and its colonial-style architecture, laid out around arcaded courtyards, still gives it a character that is instantly recognisable within the capital.
It is one of those places where a city explains itself. Along its galleries the neighbourhood's daily shopping crosses paths with the visitor's curiosity, and the offer runs from fish landed on the island to meat, fruit and vegetables, cheeses, mojos, pastries and flowers.
The market stands on Avenida de San Sebastián, a few minutes on foot from the old town and the Barranco de Santos, which makes it an easy stop while walking the capital. Alongside the food stalls, the building houses small shops, tapas bars and tasting points for local produce.
