Mercadillo Municipal de Puntallana
The municipal farmers' market of Puntallana, in the north east of La Palma, held at weekends in the middle of the village. It brings together farmers and stockbreeders from the district and around, with fruit, vegetables, cheese, honey, baked goods and island wine, alongside local craftwork. The council has been upgrading the site over recent years and in 2026 completed an outdoor pergola giving eighty square metres of covered space.
Puntallana lies on the north eastern flank of La Palma, a belt of damp midlands where cultivation runs from coastal banana plots up to kitchen gardens and highland fruit trees. That shows on the stalls: what is on offer shifts with the season and much of it has been picked close by. Alongside the farm produce there are island craft cheeses, homemade jams and baked goods, and the weekend divides the emphasis, with more farming and food one day and more craftwork the other.
The site has been receiving improvements for several years through the Canary support scheme for traditional markets. The latest, finished in 2026, is an outdoor pergola that enlarges the covered area and lets the ground be used all year for activities, events and trade promotion. For a visitor it is a good place to buy local produce without middlemen and to talk directly to the people who grew it.

The central hall holds 66 stalls, and the site has a cafeteria, a children's playground and generous parking. Selling imported produce is not allowed here.

A recent refurbishment modernised the building without erasing its old recova character.
