The Agromercado de Breña Alta on La Palma is a meeting place for producers and consumers who want to eat and live more healthily, built on food sovereignty and responsible consumption. It brings together 17 fixed and 20 rotating stalls with fresh, seasonal fruit and vegetables from the island sold directly by the growers, along with processed farm products and examples of traditional crafts that are part of local culture.
The municipal farmers' market of Puntallana, in the north east of La Palma, held at weekends in the middle of the village. It brings together farmers and stockbreeders from the district and around, with fruit, vegetables, cheese, honey, baked goods and island wine, alongside local craftwork. The council has been upgrading the site over recent years and in 2026 completed an outdoor pergola giving eighty square metres of covered space.
The municipal food market of Santa Cruz de La Palma stands on Avenida El Puente, on the site of the former hospital and house of Nuestra Señora de los Dolores, founded in 1514. The present building was designed in 1886 by the local master Felipe de Paz Pérez along classical lines. Inside, island produce is sold: dried fruit, seasonal fruit and vegetables, pulses and cereals, mojos, sweets, cheeses and wines of the La Palma designation of origin.
The farmers market of Puntagorda has been running since 2002 in the north-west of La Palma, about two kilometres from the village centre and inside the El Fayal pine forest. Growers from the surrounding district sell directly here: fruit, vegetables, meat, cheese, honey, wine, baked goods and mojo sauces, a good share of it certified organic. Around twenty craft makers have stands as well. The site covers some 1,680 square metres between a covered hall and an open-air area.
The Mercadillo de Barlovento is the farmers' and craft market run by the Barlovento town council, in the north of La Palma, on the plaza del Mercadillo. Its stalls bring together fresh produce, pastries, wine, crafts, plants and local specialities, and many editions add live music, activities for children or a theme of their own, such as the one dedicated to Asturias.
The Mercadillo del Agricultor de El Paso is the municipal market of El Paso, on La Palma, on Calle Paso de Abajo. Its stalls bring together local produce from the municipality's farmers and craftspeople, and the town council supports it with a yearly programme of activities that has included MercaFest El Paso, with live music, local tapas and drinks and activities for children.
The Mercadillo Municipal of Villa de Mazo occupies Calle Doctor Morera Bravo, in the El Pueblo district. Growers, livestock keepers and craftspeople from the municipality sell their own output there: fruit and vegetables straight from the field, Canarian mojo sauces, the well known Palmero pastries, cheeses, cigars, costume jewellery and traditional pottery. The council provides the premises.
The Rastro de Argual is set up on the Plaza de Sotomayor, in the historic hamlet of Argual between Los Llanos de Aridane and Tazacorte. It is a craft and second-hand market ringed by banana plantations and by manor houses from the 17th and 18th centuries. The stalls hold ceramics, basketry, jewellery, wood carvings, ornamental and fruit plants, and the Arte Fuego glassblowing workshop.
The municipal market of Los Llanos de Aridane, still known locally as La Recova, occupies a building from the 1950s in the middle of the town, with columns and rounded halls. Inside, the counters carry fresh fish, fruit, vegetables, spices, wines, pastries and flowers from the Aridane valley. A small bar at the back of the building is well known for its grilled meat and cheese sandwiches.
