The Mercadillo de Valverde occupies the premises that the town council opened in 2021 in the Santiago area of Villa de Valverde, the capital of El Hierro. It brings together producers and craftspeople from the surrounding area, with fruit and vegetables, livestock products, honey, baking and flowers, as well as handicraft pieces. The council stresses that the goods are first quality, zero kilometre and of El Hierro origin.
La Frontera's municipal market is set up on Plaza Benito Padrón in Tigaday, the main town of this El Hierro municipality. The town council runs it under its own internal rules approved in 2012, and it is the island's most complete market: 22 stalls across a little over a thousand square metres, with local produce, El Hierro cheeses, baked goods and handmade craftwork.
A market in the municipality of El Pinar de El Hierro, in the Taibique neighbourhood in the south of the island. El Hierro is the smallest and least travelled island in the archipelago, and its markets work mainly as a meeting point for local trade rather than as a visitor attraction. The municipality is made up of two settlements, Taibique and Las Casas, and the market operates on that order of magnitude.
