A museum and historic house in the Vegueta district of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, dedicated to the history of the Canaries and their links with the Americas. It has thirteen permanent exhibition rooms, a library and a documentation centre, in an emblematic building of the capital's old town.

Museo Castillo de Mata
Castillo de Mata houses the Museum of the City and the Sea in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The fortification was built in 1577 beside the city wall and is one of the few surviving remains of the town's sixteenth-century defensive system. It was declared a Historic Artistic Monument in 1949 and, after a restoration completed in 2013, opened as a museum in 2015.
