Poema del Mar
One of Europe's most spectacular aquariums, home to the world's largest curved viewing window onto the deep sea.

Hidden inside the port of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is one of the most spectacular aquariums in Europe, a place where the Atlantic seems to flow into the city. Poema del Mar takes you through three worlds, the Jungle, the Reef and the Deep Sea, with more than 350 species gathered from oceans and rainforests across the planet.
The route begins in the Jungle, a living greenhouse of tropical plants, river fish, crocodiles and Amazon piranhas. It continues in the Reef, a burst of colour with corals, jellyfish, seahorses and the clownfish world that leaves children wide-eyed. The journey builds to Deep Sea, a dark and silent hall where you sit face to face with the open ocean.
That final tank holds the great secret: the largest curved acrylic window in the world, 36 metres wide, 7.35 metres tall and 39 centimetres thick, holding 5.5 million litres of water and around 3,000 animals. It feels like standing beneath the surface without getting wet.
Open 365 days a year, a short walk from the city centre and the cruise pier, the whole visit takes a little over two hours. Perfect for a family morning or a cool escape from the midday sun.
