Artists in Residence 2026: Maï Diallo and Alberto Gil Cásedas at CAAM, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
Until 31 January 2027, the second floor of CAAM in Vegueta hosts the exhibitions of the 2026 Artists in Residence programme: «Memoria corporal» by Tenerife artist Maï Diallo, with sculpture and video installation, and «3.682,14 m². Tentativa de agotar un espacio museístico» by Alberto Gil Cásedas from Aragon, with drawing and installation. Admission is free.
Both shows come out of the eighth edition of CAAM's Artists in Residence programme, which received 63 proposals this year; the two selected artists worked for four weeks, from 1 to 29 October, in the museum's main building. In «Memoria corporal», Maï Diallo (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 1999) uses sculpture and video installation to explore how violence against the female body echoes across generations. In «3.682,14 m². Tentativa de agotar un espacio museístico», Alberto Gil Cásedas (Zaragoza, 1991) takes the CAAM building itself as his subject and, in dialogue with Georges Perec, uses drawing and installation to look at the links between route, repetition, architecture and memory.
From 30 October 2026 to 31 January 2027 on the second floor of CAAM, Calle Los Balcones 11, Vegueta, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday 10:00 to 21:00, Sunday 10:00 to 14:00. Free admission.
