AquaSports Taurito
A watersports centre on Playa de Taurito, in the municipality of Mogán, which also operates from Playa de Mogán. It offers jet ski hire and guided jet ski runs along the southern coast, parasailing, banana rides, Crazy Ufo and kayaks, as well as catamaran trips for dolphin watching and private boat charters. It works on advance booking and is registered as a tourism intermediary under number I-0003137.2.
Taurito is a cove hemmed in by mountains in the south west of Gran Canaria, a sheltered spot from which it is easy to head out into open water. That explains the concentration of watersports here: jet skis launch straight off the sand, either as free hire inside the buoyed area or as a guided hour long run down the southern coast, and parasailing and towables such as the banana or the Crazy Ufo work from the same beach. Kayaking is mostly done at neighbouring Playa de Mogán, where the water is flatter.
The other side of the business is the fleet. There are catamaran outings for cetacean watching boarding at Puerto Rico and Puerto de Mogán, plus private yachts and catamarans chartered by the group, from boats for fewer than ten people up to one taking twenty eight. Book ahead: places and departure slots are allocated in advance and fill up in high season.
