Playa de Nogales
Unspoilt black-sand beach at the foot of a cliff, reachable only on foot.

Playa de Nogales, in the municipality of Puntallana, is one of the largest and wildest beaches in the northeast of La Palma. Its nearly 500 metres of fine black sand lie at the foot of a cliff and can only be reached by walking down a stepped path. The strong surf and currents make it a favourite among surfers but call for caution when bathing. Its rugged scenery and quiet character make it a much-photographed spot.
