Playa de Puntalarga
Playa de Puntalarga is a small bay on the coastline of Fuencaliente de La Palma, about a hundred metres long and twenty metres wide, with a mix of sand and callao pebbles. Small rocky outcrops shelter it from the sea and the swell stays moderate. A natural rock pool lies right beside the beach, and the whole corner is ringed by fishermen's huts, with fishermen often at work there.
The Puntalarga inlet lies on the coast of the municipality of Fuencaliente de La Palma, at the southern end of the island. The bay combines sand and callao pebbles over a hundred metres or so, with a width of around twenty, and small rocky outcrops shelter it from the open sea and soften the swell.
A natural rock pool has been kept right next to the beach, and the immediate surroundings are taken up by fishermen's huts that remain in use, so fishermen are often found working there. The spot also has a recreational area and a small restaurant. It forms part of a coastline of almost deserted black sand beaches, natural pools of clear water and corners of ethnographic interest.
