Playa de Echentive
A beach of pebbles and volcanic gravel of varying size on the southern coast of Fuencaliente de La Palma, also known as Playa Nueva. It can be reached by car or on foot along the local paths, and there is parking, a public transport stop and a shower at the entrance. Two natural pools form at the foot of the nearby cliff. The beach is unsupervised, and wind and surf are often strong.
Playa de Echentive occupies a stretch of the southern shore of Fuencaliente de La Palma, within the setting of the Monumento Natural de los Volcanes de Teneguía. The ground is thoroughly volcanic, made up of pebbles and gravel of different sizes, and at the foot of the cliff beside it two natural pools hold calmer water when the open sea is rough.
Access is straightforward by car or on the footpaths that cross the area, and the beach has parking, a public transport stop and a shower at the entrance. There is no lifeguard service, and both the wind and the swell tend to be strong, so bathing calls for caution. Close by lies the Fuente Santa spring, which the municipality plans to turn into a spa.
