La Casa del Queso Cabrera Pérez is a goat farm with its own cheese dairy in Los Alares, inland in the municipality of Antigua. Goat herding is the backbone of traditional Majorero farming, and here the whole cycle is followed, from the animal to the finished cheese. The guided route goes into the stables and covers how the herd is managed and milked. The production room is watched through a glass panel, so the work carries on undisturbed.
The visit ends with a tasting: four or five Majorero cheese varieties are served in the shop and café, built around a traditional patio. Staff explain how the different curing stages differ and what changes on the palate. Groups stay small, which leaves room for questions. It is an easy stop for families, since children tend to stay with the animals. Los Alares sits inland on Fuerteventura, away from the coastal resorts.
