Mirador de Mataznos
A roadside viewpoint at kilometre 19 of the TF-21, the road climbing from La Orotava towards Teide, at about 1,248 metres above sea level. It stands inside the Corona Forestal nature park among Canary pines, fayas, tree heath, rockrose and strawberry trees. The view takes in the whole Orotava valley, from El Rincón in Puerto de la Cruz across to the Tigaiga slope above Los Realejos. There is parking and there are interpretation panels.

Mataznos is a natural pause on the TF-21 as it climbs from La Orotava towards Teide National Park. It sits at roughly 1,248 metres, on the edge of the forest, on a hillside covered with Canary pine, faya, tree heath, rockrose and strawberry trees, already within the Corona Forestal nature park.
From the platform the whole Orotava valley lies below, with El Rincón and Puerto de la Cruz to one side and the Tigaiga ridge closing off the view towards Los Realejos. On clear days Teide rises on one hand and the outline of La Palma shows on the horizon, and when the trade wind pushes the sea of clouds inland it usually sits below the viewpoint. There is a lay-by for cars, interpretive tables and panels, and access is straightforward.

Mirador de Izcagua
Mirador de Izcagua stands in the El Pinar area of Puntagorda, in the north-west of La Palma, right beside the Mercadillo del Agricultor farmers' market. The website of the La Palma Biosphere Reserve presents it as a set of floating viewpoints: walkways edged with glass railings that reach out over the ravine and give a sensation of flight. It is reached by car from the village centre heading north, along the camino del Pinar.
