Mirador de Las Penitas
Viewpoint over the Las Penitas ravine and dam, an unusual green oasis in Fuerteventura.

This viewpoint looks onto a scene unusual for Fuerteventura: a small oasis amid the arid landscape, where the Las Penitas ravine lets tamarisks and palms thrive beside a dam. Nearby stand the chapel of the Virgen de la Pena and the start of a walking route down to the reservoir. It is a good stop on the Betancuria road; morning or late-afternoon light brings out the green of the valley.

Mirador de Izcagua
Mirador de Izcagua stands in the El Pinar area of Puntagorda, in the north-west of La Palma, right beside the Mercadillo del Agricultor farmers' market. The website of the La Palma Biosphere Reserve presents it as a set of floating viewpoints: walkways edged with glass railings that reach out over the ravine and give a sensation of flight. It is reached by car from the village centre heading north, along the camino del Pinar.
