Ruta de los Molinos
The Ruta de los Molinos is the short-distance trail PR LP 02.2 of the La Palma trail network, starting in Santa Cruz de La Palma from the Barriada del Pilar or the Campo del Mensajero. It covers about 7 kilometres of medium difficulty, with 410 metres of ascent and roughly two hours of walking. It can be done all year round, and it is even more interesting in rainy spells, when water runs down the ravines.

The Ruta de los Molinos (PR LP 02.2) belongs to the La Palma trail network, an island-wide system that follows the traditional paths used for centuries by the islanders and is waymarked to international standards. It starts in Santa Cruz de La Palma, from the Barriada del Pilar or the Campo del Mensajero, and covers about 7 kilometres of medium difficulty with 410 metres of accumulated ascent, in an estimated two hours. The network itself describes it as an easy, gentle outing, ideal to do from the capital in less than half a day.
The La Palma Biosfera Foundation describes a route through the Barranco del Agua, also in Santa Cruz de La Palma, whose highlight is the Bellido mills, once used to grind grain and valued for their scenery and their ethnographic interest. The path runs past small patches of woodland and, towards the end, opens onto the street grid of the capital, the export crops on the ridges to the north and the outline of the Risco de La Concepción. Before setting off, check the trail status and the weather forecast, and bring water, a warm layer and hiking boots.
