K16 SURF SCHOOL TENERIFE
K16 Surf School Tenerife is a surf school in Playa de las Américas, in Arona, an area the school recommends for its good weather and its waves, which keep coming all year round. An official school of the Canary Islands Surf Federation, with qualified instructors and, by its own account, 21 years of experience, it offers group and private lessons, bodyboarding, adaptive surfing, surfskate and a summer camp for children.
K16 Surf School Tenerife has been teaching surfing in Playa de las Américas for 21 years, according to the school, and in that time has introduced thousands of students to the sport. It is an official school of the Canary Islands Surf Federation, works with qualified instructors and carries accident and civil liability insurance. To first-timers the school promises that they will surf waves in their very first lesson, with top-quality equipment included.
Group lessons run with one instructor for every five students, last two hours, include all equipment and finish with a small snack. Private lessons cover surfing as well as bodyboarding or adaptive surfing, and the ninety-minute surfskate sessions are designed to sharpen manoeuvre technique. In summer the school also runs a camp for children with plenty of activities, and the school also offers equipment rental and a surf shop.
