Mercadillo del Agricultor de Güímar (Puertito de Güímar)
On Thursday afternoons this market takes over Avenida de los Pescadores, the seafront promenade of Puertito de Güímar. Growers from the Güímar valley come down to the coast with vegetables, fruit and their own preserves, and you shop with the water a few steps away. It is the afternoon fixture of a small fishing village, easy to combine with a walk along the shore. A second market is held in the town centre.

The entrance keeps its original iron railings, and the main gallery holds two allegorical sculptures by Juan Borges Linares.

Its parts were ordered from London and reached the city aboard the steamer Nubia in 1897, and in 1947 the structure was dismantled in the city centre and rebuilt in this neighbourhood. The market's own website describes the building as semi-abandoned, with a single fruit stall still working out of the 18 it once housed.
