Mercadillo de Vecindario
A municipal street market of Santa Lucía de Tirajana held on Wednesdays in Vecindario, on Calle Gamonal at the corner with Calle Perojo, on the plot next to the exhibition grounds. It is the largest of the town's three markets: it takes up to a hundred and twenty street trading licences and brings together stalls of food, textiles, footwear, second hand goods, flowers, plants and seeds. The same yard hosts a small food market on Mondays.
Vecindario is the commercial hub of south eastern Gran Canaria, and its Wednesday market is a fixed date both for local residents and for people coming down from the inland villages. The open ground beside the exhibition site lets a large number of stalls spread out on one level, with no steps and no closed streets, and parking nearby is reasonably easy compared with markets set up inside a town centre.
The mix is broad rather than purely agricultural: alongside the food section there are textiles, footwear, second hand goods and a block of flowers, plants and seeds that draws people looking for outdoor planting suited to the island's dry south. Santa Lucía de Tirajana council runs all three municipal markets and awards the pitches through a public call, so the line up of traders shifts from one season to the next.

The market's own website describes the building as semi-abandoned, with a single fruit stall still working out of the 18 it once housed.
