La Tasquita de Oko
A small tasca in El Sauzal, on Tenerife's north coast, devoted to traditional Canarian home cooking, which advertises gluten free home cooking on its social media. The house speciality is goat meat, and there are also meats cooked on a hot stone, a daily set menu and vegetarian and vegan dishes, so it suits groups with different tastes well.

La Tasquita de Oko is one of those northern eating houses where Canarian food is served without fuss. The dish that defines the house is goat meat, alongside meats cooked on a hot stone and a daily set menu for people eating in the area. Those who skip meat are not left out: the menu includes vegetarian and vegan dishes.
On its social media the tasquita describes its food as typical home cooking without gluten. That is the house's own statement, not a certification, so if you are coeliac the sensible thing is to explain it when you book and ask how the dishes are prepared. El Sauzal lies on the north coast between Tacoronte and La Matanza de Acentejo, and the tasquita makes a good lunch stop in this part of the island.
