Guachinche Romance is a family-run guachinche in Barroso, in the midland hills of La Orotava, Tenerife. Mauro founded it more than fourteen years ago, continuing the culinary legacy of his grandfather Don Francisco; it has its own butcher shop and makes its own white and red wines. Its specialities include croquetas, bichillo (grilled veal), secreto ibérico, escaldón de gofio and stuffed mushrooms. It has a covered terrace overlooking the valley and the sea, and recreates 'La Nevera', a traditional Canarian shop with timples.
