Mirador El Lagarito
Mirador El Lagarito is a roadside viewpoint in the municipality of El Tanque, in the north of Tenerife. It opens onto Garachico and the Isla Baja, in particular towards the Volcán de Taco in Los Silos and over the lava flow that swamped the harbour of Garachico in the 1706 eruption. It also gives a clear line of sight into the protected area of the Acantilados de la Culata.
Mirador El Lagarito is one of the viewpoints of the municipality of El Tanque, on the northern slope of Tenerife, and it sits at the edge of a public road. El Tanque Town Council lists it among the municipal viewpoints alongside Lomo Molino and La Atalaya.
From this point the eye takes in Garachico and the whole of the Isla Baja, with the Volcán de Taco in Los Silos standing out in the landscape. The panorama includes a direct view over the lava flow that swamped the harbour of Garachico during the eruption of 1706, one of the episodes that shaped the history of the town. The viewpoint also opens a line of sight into the protected area of the Acantilados de la Culata, with its stands of vegetation.
