Mirador Cruz del Carmen
Viewpoint and visitor centre at the gateway to the Anaga Rural Park, amid laurel forest and overlooking the La Laguna valley.

In the heart of Anaga Rural Park, this old crossroads suddenly opens over the Vega de La Laguna, with the UNESCO World Heritage city below and, on clear days, Teide sketched on the horizon. Behind you breathes one of the best preserved laurel forests on the planet, damp and green even when the coast bakes in the sun. Beloved trails such as the Sendero de los Sentidos start here, and a visitor centre sits right beside the viewpoint. Tip: come early, before the sea of clouds rises and hides the view.

Mirador de Izcagua
Mirador de Izcagua stands in the El Pinar area of Puntagorda, in the north-west of La Palma, right beside the Mercadillo del Agricultor farmers' market. The website of the La Palma Biosphere Reserve presents it as a set of floating viewpoints: walkways edged with glass railings that reach out over the ravine and give a sensation of flight. It is reached by car from the village centre heading north, along the camino del Pinar.
