El Charco de San Ginés
Natural seawater lagoon in the heart of Arrecife, ringed by fishermen's houses and remodelled following César Manrique's ideas.

El Charco de San Ginés is a seawater lagoon in the heart of Arrecife, the capital of Lanzarote. Born centuries ago as a small natural fishing harbour, its sheet of water shifts with the tides and is lined by the white fishermen's houses that earned the city the nickname the Venice of the Atlantic.
Reshaped through a project linked to César Manrique, the setting has become one of the island's most photographed and strolled corners, with terraces and restaurants around the water from which to take in the reflections and the coming and going of the boats.
