Catedral de Santa Ana
Cathedral in Vegueta, the main church of the Canaries and a Las Palmas symbol.

The cathedral of Santa Ana presides over the square of the same name in the historic Vegueta district of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It is the main church of the Canary Islands, and its construction, begun in the early 16th century, continued for centuries, giving rise to a mix of Gothic, Renaissance and Neoclassical styles. Its towers, from which the old town can be admired, and its interior of palm-like columns make it the city's foremost monument.
