Popcorn Beach (Playa del Bajo de la Burra)
A natural beach near Corralejo covered in white, popcorn-shaped rhodolith grains, a curious corner of northern Fuerteventura.

Popcorn Beach, also known as Playa del Bajo de la Burra, is a small natural beach on the northern coast of Fuerteventura, between Corralejo and Majanicho. Its fame comes from the curious white grains covering the shore: not sand or coral, but rhodoliths, the fossilised remains of calcareous algae whose rounded shape recalls popcorn, set against a backdrop of volcanic rock.
It is a place to walk along the shore, take a close look at these formations and capture original photos facing the open sea. There are no facilities and access is via an unpaved track, so comfortable shoes and water are advisable, and visitors are asked to respect the setting and not remove the rhodoliths, which are part of this protected landscape.
