CASAS DE MAJADABLANCA
Rural houses on a working farm in the municipality of Antigua, in the interior of Fuerteventura, beside the FV-50 road. The estate grows one hundred and fifty olive trees of three varieties, picual, arbequina and hojiblanca, and produces its own oil. The grove is treated by organic means. The accommodation is spread across several houses within the same piece of farmland, in the flat, open landscape of the Fuerteventura midlands.
Casas de Majadablanca sits on a working farm in the municipality of Antigua, in the interior of Fuerteventura, beside the FV-50 road. What organises the place is not the accommodation but the olive grove: one hundred and fifty olive trees of three varieties, picual, arbequina and hojiblanca, from which the estate produces its own oil.
The grove is managed by organic means, and the farm documents its flowering, ploughing and harvest seasons across the years. The houses are spread within that same piece of farmland, so a stay here is set inside the rhythm of the fields. The landscape is that of the Fuerteventura midlands: flat, open and with little tall vegetation, very different from the tourist south of the island.
