The Real Surf Maspalomas School
A surf school in Maspalomas, in the south of Gran Canaria, which also covers windsurfing and stand up paddle. Its website sets out small group lessons for beginners and intermediates, combining technical and safety theory, a warm up, practice on a simulator and sessions in the water alongside the instructor. Board and wetsuit rental and an in house shop round out the offer.
The school works on the Maspalomas coast, in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, running its surf lessons in small groups matched to each person's level. The method it publishes on its website chains together technical and safety theory, a warm up with stretching, practice on a simulator and several entries into the water with the instructor in the sea, correcting between sets.
Alongside surfing it offers windsurfing and stand up paddle, equipment rental and a shop. Lessons include board and wetsuit, hotel transfer and insurance, and the school runs a webcam of the area on its own site so you can see what the sea is doing before booking.
