Southcoast surf school
Southcoast surf school is a surf school in Maspalomas, in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, on the south coast of Gran Canaria. Its instructors bring more than 30 years of ocean experience and teach group and private lessons tailored to each level, from complete beginners to advanced surfers. The school also combines surfing with surfskating to work on technique out of the water, and it rents out surf equipment.
Southcoast surf school, also presented as South Coast Surf School Maspalomas, teaches surfing on the south coast of Gran Canaria with instructors who bring more than 30 years of ocean experience. The group lesson, for beginner to intermediate level, starts with theory on the beach and continues with a two-hour practical session in the water. The private lesson is one-to-one and covers choosing the right board for each wave, reading conditions and beaches on the south coast, and paddling out, positioning and catching waves safely.
To improve technique out of the water, the school pairs two hours of surfing with two hours of surfskating, an experience recommended for all levels that helps students understand the mechanics of surfing before applying them in the sea.
