The market is run by Arona council and works as a shop window for the farming sector of the municipality. Its stalls carry a wide range of seasonal fruit and vegetables alongside livestock products, bread and pastries and a selection of craft goods. Selling is done directly by the growers and producers of the area, each one behind their own stall.

The site lies in the centre of Valle San Lorenzo, in a commercial district with restaurants and cafes nearby, and is advertised as an accessible space with parking. Besides the selling, the market hosts creative workshops and cookery demonstrations built around local produce, and associations from the municipality show their craft work there. The council publishes the programme of activities on its municipal website.
