Mercado Agrícola Tinajo
An agricultural and craft market in the Lanzarote municipality of Tinajo, running since July 2006 and laid out in a U shape: nine stone zocos holding eighteen stalls. It is held on Sundays. Eight stalls sell farm produce and the rest cover two cheese makers, wine, jams, fish, two pastry stands and one craft stand, so that the traditional trades of the municipality are all represented.
The Mercado Agrícola y Artesanal de Tinajo opened on Sunday 30 July 2006 and is held every Sunday. Its U-shaped plan is made up of nine stone zocos arranged into eighteen stalls: eight for farm produce, two cheese makers, one for wine, one for jams and produce, one fishmonger, two pastry stands and one craft stand. That split is deliberate, so that the traditional sectors of the municipality are all present, from agriculture through livestock products to what comes from the sea and from the bakery.
The market is more than a place to shop. It hosts folk performances and demonstrations tied to the primary sector: traditional threshing, a showing of the young donkeys born in the municipality, the grape harvest and grape treading, tafeña or corn toasting, and the making of gofio. The closing Sundays of the month are kept for this kind of event around local traditions and customs. In 2007 the tourism board of the Cabildo de Lanzarote singled the market out in the Premios Distinguidos del Turismo, in the cultural and sporting events category.

The market's own website describes the building as semi-abandoned, with a single fruit stall still working out of the 18 it once housed.
