Mercadillo del Agricultor de Tacoronte
Founded in 1981 to give local growers a place to sell, the Tacoronte farmers market now runs more than a hundred stalls on the Tacoronte to Tejina road at kilometre 3.5. It fills up on weekend mornings with vegetables, fruit, wine, cheese, honey, gofio, meat, fish and bread from the Tacoronte Acentejo district. There is a children's play area on site, and the market holds Biosphere Sustainable certification.
The Tacoronte farmers' market was founded in 1981 so that growers of the Tacoronte-Acentejo district could sell part of their production directly. With more than forty years behind it, it is one of the longest-running farmers' markets on Tenerife.
It brings together over a hundred stalls run by producers from the district itself: fruit, vegetables, pastries, honeys, wine and flowers, all zero-kilometre. A stall map helps visitors find their way around the site.
Since 2024 the market has also run a play area for families, so that shopping with children is easier and the youngest visitors get to know healthy food through play.

Its parts were ordered from London and reached the city aboard the steamer Nubia in 1897, and in 1947 the structure was dismantled in the city centre and rebuilt in this neighbourhood. The market's own website describes the building as semi-abandoned, with a single fruit stall still working out of the 18 it once housed.
