Cafetería TZ14 is at Calle Tomás Zerolo 14, in the historic centre of La Orotava in the north of Tenerife. The building was put up by D. Alonso Llarena y Carrasco between 1768 and 1783, in the same years as the Iglesia de la Concepción, and in 1910 its facade was remodelled in a modernist design by the architect Mariano Estanga.
Inside there is a handcrafted lounge with sofas, and outside a bright terrace with a large colourful graffiti mural; blankets are handed out against La Orotava's damp chill. It serves Illy coffee, fresh juices, sandwiches, pastries, homemade churros and the zaperoco, a close relative of the barraquito. The café is adapted for people with reduced mobility, has wifi and welcomes pets.
