Mirador de Los Dragos
A viewpoint in the El Roque neighbourhood of Puntagorda, in north-western La Palma. A huge, emblematic dragon tree presides over the spot and gives it its name, and from here a magnificent view opens over the Barranco de El Roque. An old camino real runs right alongside, one of the tracks that linked the hamlets before today's roads existed. A small car park at the base makes it an easy stop on a drive through the municipality.

Puntagorda scatters its viewpoints across its neighbourhoods, and the one at Los Dragos, in El Roque, is among the most recognisable. A huge, emblematic dragon tree presides over the site and lends it its name. From here the view opens over the Barranco de El Roque, the cut of the ravine shaping the landscape of La Palma's north-west. An old camino real passes right beside the viewpoint, one of the routes that connected the hamlets before the present roads were built.
Stopping here is straightforward: a small car park sits at the base of the viewpoint, which makes it a comfortable pause on a drive. A little further down, next to the PR LP 11.1 path, there is a second small viewpoint, so the two can easily be linked on foot. Anyone wanting to see more of the municipality has the astronomical viewpoint on Montaña de Miraflores, in El Pino, nearby, along with the floating viewpoints of Izcagua and their glass-railed walkways above the ravine.
