Sendero circular de la Montaña de Tindaya
Route around Montaña de Tindaya, sacred mountain of the aboriginal Majos and a Natural Monument with podomorph carvings.

Montaña de Tindaya rises in Fuerteventura's arid north and was a sacred place for the ancient Majos, who carved more than three hundred foot-shaped podomorphs on its slopes. It is designated a Natural Monument and a Site of Cultural Interest.
The routes circle the mountain over flat, dry and very wind-exposed terrain, with broad views towards La Oliva, the Betancuria massif and the sea. Since 2019 access to the summit has been restricted to protect the archaeological heritage, but the trails around it let you enjoy the setting and its symbolic weight. Sturdy footwear and sun protection are advised.
