Playa del Janubio spreads across the mouth of the Janubio lagoon in the municipality of Yaiza. Its black sand contrasts with the blue Atlantic and with the historic salt flats that frame it.
Swell and currents are often strong, so it is a place better suited to walking and taking in the scenery than to swimming. Access is free.

Playa de Puntalarga
Playa de Puntalarga is a small bay on the coastline of Fuencaliente de La Palma, about a hundred metres long and twenty metres wide, with a mix of sand and callao pebbles. Small rocky outcrops shelter it from the sea and the swell stays moderate. A natural rock pool lies right beside the beach, and the whole corner is ringed by fishermen's huts, with fishermen often at work there.
