Wild sand-and-pebble cove in a protected landscape near Agaete, with no facilities.

Islas24

Guayedra is an unspoilt cove within the Tamadaba Natural Park, between Agaete and El Risco. You reach it by leaving the car near the road and walking down a dirt track for about twenty minutes. It mixes dark sand and pebbles, usually calm water and a very photogenic ravine setting. There are no beach bars or lifeguards, so bring water and sturdy shoes.

Did you know? After the conquest, the valley of Guayedra was granted to Fernando Guanarteme, the last aboriginal king of Gáldar, in payment for his services to the Crown. It still preserves pre-Hispanic remains such as dwelling caves, burials and ceremonial sites.
