Piscinas Naturales de Mesa del Mar
Volcanic natural sea pools at Mesa del Mar, on the northern coast of Tacoronte, reached through a tunnel cut into the cliff.

The Mesa del Mar natural pools are a cluster of seawater rock pools on the northern coast of Tacoronte, in a small coastal spot tucked at the foot of a cliff. The curiosity of the place is the way in: a tunnel bored through the rock links the seafront development with the pools, which are sheltered from the rough Atlantic swell by barriers of volcanic stone.
It is a bathing spot much loved by locals from Tacoronte and by anyone after a quiet corner of the sea away from the busier beaches of the south. The setting, with its dark rock and clear water, offers the authentic feel of Tenerife's northern coast, where the sea often arrives with force and it is always wise to keep an eye on the state of the tide.

A natural sea pool on the steep coast of Tacoronte, in the fishing village of El Pris, next to a small brown-sand beach. A low wall separates it from the open sea, and at high tide the line between the two blurs, so the water keeps moving and renewing itself. Steps and ramps with handrails make getting in easier, and the 023 bus line has a stop nearby.
