Playa el Pris, Piscina Natural
A natural sea pool on the steep coast of Tacoronte, in the fishing village of El Pris, next to a small brown-sand beach. A low wall separates it from the open sea, and at high tide the line between the two blurs, so the water keeps moving and renewing itself. Steps and ramps with handrails make getting in easier, and the 023 bus line has a stop nearby.

El Pris is a fishing village of around 380 people who largely make their living from the sea, and its natural pool is the kind you take slowly. Set on the steep coast of the municipality of Tacoronte, it is a privileged spot to watch the intense colours of the sunset with Mount Teide behind. A discreet wall is all that separates it from the ocean: when the tide comes up, the line between sea and pool blurs and the water enters a constant movement that renews it and keeps it exceptionally clean.
The place suits all kinds of visitors, families and older people in particular, because it has steps and ramps with handrails that ease access. The contrast between its calm water and the strong swell that characterises the sea in this area is a sight in itself, and that same contrast is the reason to check conditions before going in. Beside the pool lies a small beach of brown sand, modest in size and with some surf of its own. To round off the day, the nearby restaurants specialise in fresh fish and Canarian cooking.
