El Golfo - Charco de los Clicos (Lago Verde)
Vivid green coastal lagoon beside a black-sand beach, set in an old volcanic crater near the village of El Golfo.

Charco de los Clicos, also called Lago Verde, is a coastal lagoon beside the village of El Golfo in the municipality of Yaiza. Its striking green colour comes from a type of algae and contrasts with the beach's black sand and the reddish walls of the volcanic half-crater around it.
It is protected as a nature reserve, so bathing is not allowed and the lagoon is viewed from the lookouts above it. It is one of the most photographed landscapes in southern Lanzarote.
