Casa Rural Bentayga stands in Tejeda, the municipality that occupies the mountainous heart of Gran Canaria. The house presents itself as an old dwelling that has been carefully restored, and that character shows in the terraced garden, the barbecue area, the outdoor shower and the beds of aromatic and medicinal plants around the building.
What makes the spot interesting lies as much outside as in. The surroundings belong to the Gran Canaria Biosphere Reserve and the Roque Nublo Rural Park, and they border the Cultural Landscape of Risco Caído and the Sacred Mountains of Gran Canaria, inscribed on the World Heritage list. This is walking, trail running, cycling and climbing country, and the house itself points to the quality of the night sky for stargazing.
