Biofinca Casa el Riego. Casa Rural
Casa el Riego is a stone house built in the late 19th century on an organic finca near Güímar, on the still little-touristed east side of Tenerife. It has six double rooms with private bathrooms, a shared vegetarian kitchen with sea views, a saltwater pool and a roof terrace with 360-degree views of the mountains and the sea, where yoga and qi gong classes are held.

The house was built at the end of the 19th century and stands on an organic finca close to the traditional town of Güímar, on the east side of the island, which still sees few tourists. The hosts describe it as a place where people of all ages and cultures meet. Thick stone walls keep the temperature pleasant through the year, so the house does without air conditioning and heating; a photovoltaic system provides electricity and hot water, and an osmosis filter in the kitchen makes the tap water drinkable.
The guest area has six double rooms with private bathrooms and space for thirteen people, and some rooms can be connected for families. There are tables for working and a stable 5G connection for remote work, plus a 12 by 4 metre saltwater pool overlooking the mountains and the sea. The finca covers 10,000 m², of which around 3,000 are farmed organically using permaculture methods, and an edible forest is planned. Guests may taste the fruit and vegetables from the garden, and the house also offers seasonal organic produce boxes, surfboard rental, homemade products, workshops in vegan cooking, yoga, qi gong and permaculture, and retreats.

Most of the bad stories about buying here are not about price. They come from three things the listing does not show: what class of land it sits on, what the registry says, and whether that house can legally be let to tourists. All three can be checked before you sign anything.
