Residencias SIT3 – RAVE-N, by Guaxara Baldassarreverified
RAVE-N, by Guaxara Baldassarre, is an electronic birthday party that uses biography as evidence of a political crime, examining how the logic of a regime seeps into the home. Action, music by Timo Versemann, light and objects saturate the Sala Insular de Teatro in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria as part of Residencias SIT. The show uses strobe lighting and is for audiences aged 16 and over.
Created, directed and performed by Guaxara Baldassarre, RAVE-N starts from a single line, "we had our own Franco at home", to show private violence as the record of a power structure that reproduces itself across generations. The family setting becomes a zone of operations where mechanisms of control and inherited silences are carried out. The piece sets off a wall of noise, an architecture of saturation in which action, music, light and objects fill the space, and where past and present converge in a celebration: the one that was banned, and the one that now takes place.
This live arts, performance and electronic music piece is presented as Residencias SIT3 at the Sala Insular de Teatro in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with music by Timo Versemann and lighting design by Cristina Alba Moyano. It lasts about an hour and is for ages 16 and over. It uses strobe lighting and high sound frequencies that may affect people with photosensitive epilepsy or acoustic hypersensitivity. This performance starts on Friday 18 December 2026 at 19:30.
