Astrea Teatro and Ágora bring Eugene O'Neill's tragedy to the Teatro Cuyás in a version directed by Ernesto Caballero, with Carlos Hipólito, Mapi Sagaseta, Alex Villazón and Nicolás Illoro. Over the course of a single summer day the Tyrone family confronts its own ghosts in a house by the sea. The performance runs for one hour and forty minutes, and tickets are priced at 23, 20, 15 and 12 euros.
James Tyrone, the family patriarch and a veteran actor, wrestles with his fear of poverty, while his wife Mary sinks into an addiction that consumes her. Their sons, the spendthrift Jaimie and the melancholy, ailing Edmund, move between love and resentment in a household shaped by guilt, reproach and broken dreams.
Carlos Hipólito played Edmund in 1988 in the Teatro Español staging directed by Miguel Narros and William Layton, and now returns to the same play as James Tyrone. The Teatro Cuyás schedules the production for Friday 15 January 2027 at 19:30, the first of two evenings.
