Fronteras, de Henry Naylorverified

Culture

Pincheforn Producciones presents Henry Naylor's play, directed by Andrés Lima and performed by Carolina Yuste and Eneko Sagardoy. Two monologues interweave: that of a young Western news photographer catapulted to fame after the 11 September attacks, and that of an anonymous teenage Syrian graffiti artist forced to flee her country. The show runs for ninety minutes, with tickets from 12 to 23 euros.

The photographer captures the first exceptional image of Bin Laden and is catapulted into journalistic stardom. The young graffiti artist fights to the last consequence for a change of regime and a better future for her country. Their accounts run apart until they meet in a harrowing climax.

Fronteras deals with idealism, personal and professional ethics, the relationship between West and East, the conflict in Syria and the migration crisis, combining realism, boldness, poetry and humour. It is also a satirical attack on celebrity culture and on Western inertia in the face of humanitarian crises.
