René Egli Fuerteventura Windsurf Center
A wind sports centre on Playa Sotavento in Costa Calma, set in front of the Meliá hotels. Windsurfing, kiteboarding and wing foiling are covered with equipment rental and a school for every level, backed by a workshop, a rescue service and its own store. The lagoon beside the centre, held under an exclusive licence for all classes, fills and empties with the tide and offers turquoise flat water. The base has stood on this stretch of coast since 1984.
The René Egli Center gathers its services under the palm trees in front of the Meliá hotels on Playa Sotavento, Costa Calma, with a relaxation area, a beach bar and supervised watersport zones. The centre carries forty two years of know how on this part of the Fuerteventura coast and has hosted the World Cup for thirty eight consecutive years, a run that few venues on the tour can match.
The programme covers windsurfing, kiteboarding and wing foiling, with rental material and courses for all levels, including a beginner combo for wing foil. The e-foil built by Aerofoils with the Audi e-tron drive can also be tried here. The lagoon, for which the centre holds an exclusive licence across all classes, fills and drains with the tide and leaves flat water that suits first attempts. A tide forecast, a live webcam and wind statistics for the spot are published by the centre itself.
