KAYAKING SHINGI ADVENTURES
Kayaking Shingi Adventures runs kayak, snorkelling and stand-up paddle outings in Palm-Mar, in the municipality of Arona in the south of Tenerife. Its guided kayak and snorkel tour sets off from La Arenita beach towards the Bahía de las Tortugas, a calm stretch of water facing La Gomera where turtles, fish, rays and, with some luck, dolphins are often seen. No previous experience is needed.

The guided kayak and snorkel tour run by Kayaking Shingi Adventures leaves from La Arenita beach in Palm-Mar and follows a volcanic stretch of cliffs facing La Gomera to the Bahía de las Tortugas. There the group stops to swim and snorkel in clear water, where turtles, colourful fish, rays and wild dolphins often appear. Groups are small and the outing is designed for beginners and families, with children from 6 years old accompanied by an adult. It includes a single or double kayak, life jacket, wetsuit and booties if needed, snorkelling gear, a safety briefing, a guide, water, and photos and videos of the trip.
Paddlers with sea experience can hire a kayak without a guide, and the company also offers stand-up paddle outings along the Palm-Mar coast. It is run by Shingi, born in Zimbabwe, who has spent more than 30 years guiding on rivers and oceans around the world, including twelve years of rafting on the Zambezi beside Victoria Falls and seven in the fjords of Norway. The languages available are Spanish, English and Shona.
