Aquasport Diving Lanzarote
Aquasport Diving Lanzarote is a dive club based in Puerto del Carmen that dives all year round at Playa Chica and also heads out to the northern coast at Mala and south to Playa Blanca. Outings are built around half days, with two guided dives in small groups of matching level and the option of a third dive or a night dive. It covers everything from a first try dive to technical training.
The club is run by Eric and Géraldine, instructors since 2007 who worked in France and Mexico before taking the centre over in 2014. Dives leave daily either from Playa Chica or from the centre itself, depending on the site chosen, with a van transfer; a surface interval with coffee sits between the two morning dives. Equipment is stored and rinsed at the centre for the whole stay.
Groups are put together by level and are always guided. A first taste of diving is open from the age of eight and the Basic Diver course from the age of ten, with two dives. Divers need a medical certificate of fitness less than a year old and diving insurance, which is compulsory in Spain and which the centre can supply. Among the species the club lists at its sites are groupers, barracudas, rays, octopus and the angelshark.
