Mercadillo de Teror
One of the oldest street markets on Gran Canaria, with two centuries of history behind it, set up around the Basílica del Pino and the Plaza de Sintes. The council brings together more than seventy stalls here with food and local produce, textiles, crafts, plants and religious objects, alongside the Rincón del Artesano, a space given over to Canary craftwork.
The area around the Basílica del Pino is transformed when the Teror market arrives, described by the council as one of the oldest street markets on the island, with two centuries of history behind it. The geography of the municipality and, above all, the social weight of the devotion to the Virgen del Pino turned it into a meeting point for thousands of people.
More than seventy stalls take part, ranging from food and local produce to textiles, crafts, plants and religious objects. The Plaza del Pino also hosts the Rincón del Artesano, a space for promoting and selling Canary craftwork with around ten artisans, most of them from the municipality itself: carpentry, basketry, pottery, tinwork, embroidery and traditional looms.

Mercado Altavista is the municipal market of the Altavista neighbourhood, in the Ciudad Alta district of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It occupies an 1,800 square metre building opened in 1970 and brings together food stalls: butchers, fishmongers, greengrocers, bakeries and cake shops, cheese and cured meat counters and herbalists, along with fashion and accessories. It belongs to the Mercados Tradicionales de Canarias network.

Shopping centre opened in July 2026 in Las Chafiras (San Miguel de Abona), next to exit 62 of the TF-1 and a few minutes from Tenerife South airport. More than 45 shops and about ten restaurants on two floors, with a cinema, a supermarket, free parking and electric charging points. Shops open 10:00 to 22:00 every day; the food court closes at midnight.

Inside there are fruit and vegetable stalls, a butcher, a stall for organic produce and a bar cafeteria, stocked largely from the north of Gran Canaria. The entrance keeps its original iron railings, and the main gallery holds two allegorical sculptures by Juan Borges Linares.

Its parts were ordered from London and reached the city aboard the steamer Nubia in 1897, and in 1947 the structure was dismantled in the city centre and rebuilt in this neighbourhood. The market's own website describes the building as semi-abandoned, with a single fruit stall still working out of the 18 it once housed.
